Foghorn is a site-specific installation made principally of sound. The space is filled with deep, soft sound that is tuned to resonate throughout the room. The sound ebbs and flows at a slow pace suggesting a force beyond the human scale. Visitors may perceive the sound as a beacon or as a warning.

In this example, the sound emanated from beneath a wooden platform that visitors could sit or lie on. If they chose to do so, the sound would vibrate throughout their bodies.

Foghorn features low-frequency tones that cannot be accurately recorded or reproduced on conventional speakers.
